About Glasnevin Cemetery Museum

Glasnevin Cemetery is actually a large cemetery which also houses a museum and it is located in Glasnevin, Ireland. The cemetery was opened in 1832. The cemetery contains monuments and graves of many historically notable figures such as Roger Casement, Daniel O'Connell, Arthur Griffith, Maude Gonne, Kevin Barry, Seán MacBride, Charles Stewart Parnell, Éamon de Valera, Michael Collins, Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa, Christy Brown, James Larkin, Brendan Behan and Luke Kelly, all of them are important figures in Irish history. Even though it may be an odd place to be a museum, it definitely has a unique atmosphere.
