About Plaza de Espana

The Plaza de España is a plaza which is located in the Parque de Maria Luisa in Seville, Spain. It is a perfect example of Regionalism Architecture as it has mixed elements of Renaissance Revival, Baroque Revival and Moorish Revival styles that belong to Spanish architecture. The main purpose of its construction was the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. Now, the buildings inside are used by government agencies as offices. There is also a museum which holds the city’s archeological collections, Roman mosaics and artifacts toward the end of the plaza. In addition to this, the plaza has been used as a filming location in Star Wars movie series as the exterior shots of the City of Theed.
