About Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, which is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. As it is the largest mosque in the Emirates, the mosque functions as a key place for daily worships and Friday and Eid prayers. Especially in Eid time, the mosque is visited by 41,000 people. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has many unique items inside its walls. For example, the carpet in the mosque is the world’s largest carpet which measures 5,627 m2, weights 35 ton and was designed by Ali Khaliqi and prepared by Iran's Carpet Company.
