About Stonehenge

Stonehenge is one of the most iconic and famous landmarks in the United Kingdom. It is also considered as a British cultural icon, therefore, it is legally protected by legislation since 1882. It is also listed in World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1986 and owned by the Crown. Stonehenge consists of standing stones which are 4 meters high and 2.1 meters wide. Each stone weigh about 25 tons. It is believed to be constructed from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. The site can be found in Wiltshire, England.
